Greetings from Mbeya!
We are well here, and life is moving along quickly. Since it has been a little while since our last update, what better time than the present to give you an update on our lives and ministry.
Cory's position as field director is going well. One of his roles as field director is acting as the intermediary between the Tanzanian church, the missionaries, and our home office. Since one of the biggest problems on the mission field can come from poor communication, Cory is able to keep things running as smoothly as possible, keep relationships strong and the communication open and frequent. As some of our fellow missionaries are in America, it is important to keep them up-to-date regarding the latest happenings in the church and in the country as a whole.
There are also exciting things happening in the correspondence program. We now have 40 students enrolled and actively filling out and returning their lessons. It is very encouraging to see people from many different churches and backgrounds interested in God's Word and desiring to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are also in the final stages of preparing for entering a new phase of our correspondence ministry. In the next two weeks we will start preaching and advertising for the correspondence course on the radio. We will start with two local radio stations which reach much of southwestern Tanzania. The pastors of some of the local Grace churches will be doing the teaching/preaching in one hour segments. Please pray that God's Word can reach many new people and that a proper Biblical understanding of salvation can be conveyed to the listeners.
At home, we are also making some positive progress. Elijah is reaching the end of his reading lessons, and is doing very well. Naomi is having a much better attitude lately and is making school much more pleasant and productive for herself and for Kim.
Please continue to pray for us in our roles her in Mbeya, and for Godly contentment in our lives as Satan is constantly working to discourage and break us down.
We thank you for your prayers and support, and look forward to hearing how you are doing. We're also thanking the Lord for 7 years serving Him in Tanzania!
In His Service,
Cory, Kim, Naomi, and Elijah Hodgson
